Three things have quietly been slipping through alcohol creative reviews.

Models who look 22 but technically aren't. Cartoon mascots. Multi-generation family scenes.

The ABAC Panel has consistently ruled against all three. Engines and tools scoring this content have been waving them through anyway.

This week we shipped the Alcohol v3.35 Engine for Checked It (www.checkedit.ai)

What has been upgraded:

  • Apparent age defaults to Orange when ambiguous. If your model doesn't unambiguously read as 25-plus, the engine flags it. ABAC Det. 25/26 sets the precedent.
  • Cartoon mascots and anthropomorphic animal markers now fire under ABAC Part 3(b)(i). The single highest-frequency youth-coded risk no longer slips to a passing score.
  • Intergenerational family scenes flagged under Part 3 progression, matching how a Panel actually adjudicates them.
  • 0% and brand-halo creative (the non-alcoholic line that sits next to the alcohol SKU) now scored against the full ABAC framework, not waved through as off-scope.
  • Sustained-consumption patterns (the "all afternoon all Sunday" style, brand-as-tagline framings) now detected.
  • Mandatory elements no longer count toward best-practice scores. Compliance is the floor, not the ceiling.
  • Precedent citations now lock to the actual outcome direction.

If your alcohol creative is anywhere near ABAC Part 3, run it through Checked It first.
